Uniwersyteckie Centrum Badań nad Teatrem Muzycznym zostało powołane do życia decyzją Rektora UAM z dnia 12 kwietnia 2011, na podstawie § 22, ust.1 oraz § 39, ust.4 Statutu UAM.
Podstawowym zadaniem Centrum jest podejmowanie działań na rzecz naukowego badania propagowania kultury operowej i teatralnej, w szczególności:
1) prowadzenie interdyscyplinarnych badan naukowych;
2) organizacja specjalistycznych konferencji krajowych i międzynarodowych;
3) opracowanie projektów dydaktycznych, gromadzenie literatury, nagrań i ilustracji niezbędnych dla procesu dydaktycznego.
Centrum Badań nad Teatrem Muzycznym skupia badaczy uprawiających wiedzę o literaturze, wiedzę o teatrze oraz muzykologię w obrębie naszego uniwersytetu, współpracuje także, przy konkretnych przedsięwzięciach naukowych i popularyzatorskich, z badaczami i artystami innych instytucji oraz innych ośrodków naukowych, w Polsce i zagranicą. Centrum posiada Radę Programową w składzie: prof. Dobrochna Ratajczakowa (Katedra Dramatu, Teatru i Widowisk UAM), prof. Krzysztof Meyer, kompozytor i teoretyk muzyki (Katedra Muzykologii UAM) oraz prof. Irena Poniatowska (Narodowy Instytut Fryderyka Chopina, Warszawa). Uniwersyteckim Centrum Badań nad Teatrem Muzycznym UAM kieruje prof. Elżbieta Nowicka z Instytutu Filologii Polskiej UAM.
Od początku roku 2013 Centrum pracuje w oparciu o grant Narodowego Programu Rozwoju Humanistyki, udzielony na realizację programu badawczego „Libretto operowe w kulturze polskiej i jego status w badaniach humanistycznych” (Nr 11H 12 0201 81)

About the Centre
The Centre for Research into Music Theatre was established by a decision taken by the Vice-Chancellor of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań (AMU), on 12 April 2011, based on § 22.1 and § 39.4 of the AMU statute.
The Centre’s core task is to pursue activities fostering the study and propagation of operatic and theatrical culture, in particular:
1) Conducting interdisciplinary academic research;
2) Organising specialist national and international conferences;
3) Elaborating didactic projects and gathering literature, recordings and illustrations essential to the didactic process.
The Centre for Research into Music Theatre brings together scholars cultivating knowledge about literature, theatre and music within our university; it also works on specific academic and popularising projects with scholars and artists from other institutions and other academic centres, in Poland and abroad. The Centre’s Programme Committee comprises Professor Dobrochna Ratajczakowa (AMU Faculty of Drama, Theatre and Spectacles), composer and music theorist Professor Krzysztof Meyer (AMU Faculty of Musicology) and Professor Irena Poniatowska (Fryderyk Chopin Institute, Warsaw). Head of the AMU Centre for Research into Music Theatre is Professor Elżbieta Nowicka of the AMU’s Institute of Polish Philology.
Since the beginning of 2013, the Centre’s work has been supported by a grant from the National Programme for the Development of the Humanities, awarded for the implementation of the research programme ‘The operatic libretto in Polish culture and its status in humanistic research’ (No. 11H 12 0201 81).
